Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS)

VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools)

VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) are volunteers who support Houston ISD students, staff, and campuses.
Note: VIPS registration must be renewed every school year.

Each year, thousands of parents, students, and community members support HISD students and teachers by volunteering their time. VIPS represent all economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds. They are caring adults and students who:

  • Tutor and mentor students
  • Assist teachers in the classroom
  • Support in the library, clinic, office, and cafeteria
  • Provide hands-on computer or enrichment experiences
  • Help with school events and much more

Thank You, Volunteers!

We appreciate your dedication and commitment. As a returning or new volunteer, you will have the continued support of the campus VIPS Coordinator, your child’s teacher, and school staff. Your time and care contribute to HISD’s core mission: positively impacting student achievement. Whether serving as a mentor, tutor, or chaperone, your presence makes a real difference in the lives of our students.

Thank you for all you do to support our school and our students!
